Hello friends, and welcome back!
Nurse Nana’s World didn’t start as a business idea. It started as something personal.
I grew up with a brother who has developmental disabilities, and from a young age I saw how confusing and intimidating the healthcare system could be for families. My parents were constantly trying to advocate, learn, and do the best they could with the information they had.
At the same time, my dad worked as a Chicago paramedic for over 20 years, and I watched him come home with stories that showed both how powerful healthcare can be and how fragile it can be when people don’t understand what’s happening to their bodies or their children.
Those experiences stayed with me.
When I became a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I thought my job would just be about treating kids in the clinic. But what I quickly realized is that parents don’t just need prescriptions or diagnoses. They need reassurance. They need education. They need someone to explain things in a way that feels safe and clear instead of scary and rushed.
Over and over again, families asked me the same questions. Is this fever normal? Am I doing this right? Should I be worried? What does this milestone really mean? And I started thinking, why should this support only exist inside exam rooms?
I wanted to create something that families could come back to anytime. Something that felt warm, gentle, and trustworthy. A place where medical knowledge meets real life parenting. A place where culture, creativity, and care can exist together.
That is how Nurse Nana’s World was born.
Everything I share and create comes from the same place. Whether it’s a digital guide, a handmade Cozy Baby Creations item, a video, or a future community project like Nurse Nana’s Garden & Grain, the goal is always the same. To help families feel more confident caring for their children and more supported in their journey.
This work is deeply personal to me. It is inspired by my family, by the patients I care for every day, and by the belief that families deserve access to information that feels kind, honest, and empowering.
Nurse Nana’s World is not just about healthcare. It is about community. It is about nurturing children and caregivers from the inside out. It is about creating something soft and safe in a world that can feel overwhelming.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for trusting me with your time, your questions, and your families. I’m so grateful to grow this space with you.
With love,
Nurse Nana
