Nurse Nana’s Garden & Grain is a slow-living, community-centered space built on nourishment in every sense of the word; physical, emotional, cultural, and educational. Opening in Summer 2026 on Chicago’s South Side in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood, Garden & Grain is an extension of Nurse Nana’s mission.
Here, science meets soil. And nourishment goes beyond the plate.
What Is Garden & Grain?
Garden & Grain is more than a farm stand—it’s a philosophy.
It’s a space where food, education, sustainability, and caregiving come together to support whole-family wellness. Everything we offer is rooted in intention, safety, and joy.
This is care beyond clinic walls.
Why Bronzeville
Bronzeville is a neighborhood shaped by resilience, creativity, and collective care, values that live at the heart of Garden & Grain. Plus, it just so happens to be the lifetime neighborhood that Nurse Nana grew up in!
This space isn’t about “bringing” something new to the community. It’s about growing something with it: a welcoming, intergenerational place where families can gather, learn, and nourish themselves together.

All made with family-safe ingredients and instructions on how to make your own at home!
🍞 Pre-Order Baked Goods
Small-batch, rotating baked goods rooted in tradition, culture, and seasonal flavors will be available through preorder to reduce waste and honor slow food practices.

A shared space for local events, resources, workshops, announcements, kids’ art, and neighborhood connections.
📚 Education-Forward Offerings
Because Nurse Nana is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, education will always be part of what we do, through gentle wellness resources, child-friendly learning tools, and family-centered guidance.

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I’ve learned that families don’t just need medical answers.
They need nourishment.
They need education.
They need community.
Garden & Grain exists to meet those needs, gently and lovingly.
